I’ve been doing radio since I was 14 years old. Some say I’m the beneficiary of nepotism. I say I’m an example of natural ability meeting opportunity that was afforded me because my dad is in the business. I guess that’s nepotism.
I am your basic white guy. I like baseball, beer, hair metal, my dog and pictures of Britney Spears circa 1998-2004. You may look at me and ask yourself “What does this fat bastard know about sports? It looks like he’s never even played”. Well, you’d be wrong. I played basketball at Brusly High School where I dropped 19 points in a game and was 3-3 from 3-point land. Then the black guy who wasn’t guarding me prior to the made baskets, probably because I was wearing Rec Specs, got really angry and didn’t allow me to score again. After that I probably scored 19 points total the rest of my career. I may be the only person to ever announce the starting lineups in the gym and start the game as a player. You could say that is a feat comparable to Deion Sanders playing a baseball and football game in the same day. I also achieved something so rare in the annals of Louisiana High School golf that it is still talked about 12 years later…. I shot a 20 on the opening hole of the Regional Tournament. I ended up shooting a 130, which I consider an accomplishment. I get way too angry while playing PlayStation. I yell at the TV during sporting events. I am petrified of the TV show “Unsolved Mysteries” and I survived Viral Encephalitis. I say that last part not to brag, but to give you an excuse for why I tend to forget things and wander during segments.
I hosted the Jim Rome Show 9 times when it was still on the Premiere Networks. I hosted a nationally syndicated show on CBS Sports Radio. I had the #1 afternoon radio show in Philadelphia for a year. I got fired 8 months later. I’m now in Houston.
